Q: Why Siete Leguas?
Through history, the horse has been an essential part of man's evolution. The horse has been used as food, as transport, as an important tool in the heavy labors of agriculture, as entertainment, in sports, and as a wartime comrade in arms.
In the Mexican Revolution there was a rough and tough man, a hero for some historians and thousands of people, a thief for some others, a true Robin Hood. A man who through his actions wrote down his own story, his name: Francisco "Pancho" Villa. In those days when most of it was done on horse back, a man like him needed many good horses for his revolutionary struggles.
Among all of the many horses he had, there was one that he "Loved the most" as a Mexican folk music song tells it, the name of this horse was: Siete Leguas. It is through the name of this horse that we want to offer a modest tribute to all of those horses that contributed to the uplifting of man's spirit.
